      Cookie Policy

      What are cookies?

We and our service providers use cookies and similar tracking technologies (hereinafter referred to as 'cookies') to track the activity on our service and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyse our service.

Cookies are widely used and, on their own, are not harmful; for example, they do not store your email address or telephone number. Some cookies do, however, process personal data (for instance marketing cookies that build a profile of your browsing behaviour). That is why we ask for your consent before placing any cookies that are not strictly necessary.

How we ask for your consent.

Necessary cookies (see below) are placed automatically, because our website cannot work properly without them. All other cookies – functional, analytical and marketing cookies – are only placed after you have given your consent through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie banner (for example through the “cookie settings” link on our website), and withdrawing is as easy as giving it. Adjusting your browser settings, as described further below, is an additional option and not a substitute for this consent. The legal basis for placing non-essential cookies and for processing the personal data collected through them is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, in conjunction with the national rules implementing Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive). We keep a record of your choice (consent or refusal) for a maximum of 12 months; after that period, or if we materially change our use of cookies, we will ask you to make your choice again.

The technologies we use may include:

      • Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on your device. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some parts of our service. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our service may use cookies. Cookies can be persistent or session cookies. Persistent cookies remain on your personal computer or mobile device when you go offline, while session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your web browser. Some cookies are essential (such as keeping track of your authenticated session or basket) and some cookies are there to improve your experience. We may also use cookies to test new pages, features or new functionality of the website to see how our users react to them.
      • Web beacons. Certain sections of our service and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags and single-pixel gifs) that permit us, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of a certain section and verifying system and server integrity).

This page describes what information they gather, how we use it and why we sometimes need to store these cookies. We will also share how you can prevent these cookies from being stored; however, this may downgrade or 'break' certain elements of the website.

Because of the way in which the internet and websites work, it may be that we do not always have insight into the cookies that third parties place via our website.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via our cookie banner, and you can also delete cookies through your browser settings. Browser settings are an additional control and do not replace the cookie banner.

      Who sets cookies?

There are two types of cookies:

      • First-party cookies: these cookies are placed and read by MR MARVIS across all our website domains (e.g. mrmarvis.com, mrmarvis.nl, mrmarvis.de, etc.).
      • Third-party cookies: these cookies are set by other companies that provide services to MR MARVIS as data processors, such as Shopify, Klaviyo, Contentsquare and UXtweak. Please see the cookie list below for a full overview.

How does MR MARVIS use cookies?

We use both session and persistent cookies for the purposes set out below.

      Necessary cookies

      • Account-related cookies. If you create an account with us then we will use cookies for the management of the signup process and general administration. These cookies will usually be deleted when you log out; however, in some cases they may remain afterwards to remember your site preferences when logged out.
      • Login-related cookies. We use cookies when you are logged in so that we can remember this fact. This prevents you from having to log in every single time you visit a new page. These cookies are typically removed or cleared when you log out to ensure that you can only access restricted features and areas when logged in.
      • Order-processing-related and returns cookies. We offer subscription, e-commerce, returns or payment facilities and some cookies are essential to ensure that your basket, order items or return portal configurations are remembered between pages so that we can process them properly.
      • Notice-acceptance cookies. These cookies identify the cookie preferences you have selected on our site, helping us read and comply with your preferences.

      Functional cookies

      • Form-related cookies. When you submit data through a form such as those found on contact pages or comment forms, cookies may be set to remember your user details for future correspondence.
      • Temporary data-storage cookies. These cookies help pass information from one page to the next, so that you do not always have to enter the same information.
      • Live-chat & Support cookies. These cookies power our interactive customer support features (via Kustomer and Engaige). They store information regarding your automated chat interactions and maintain your active conversation history, allowing you to view your chat thread seamlessly when you navigate or return to our website.
      • Wishlist cookies. These cookies store products/pages saved to your wishlist.
      • Site preferences cookies. In order to provide you with a great experience on this site, we provide the functionality to set your preferences for how this site runs when you use it. In order to remember your preferences, we need to set cookies so that this information can be called whenever you interact with a page that is affected by your preferences.

      Analytical cookies

      • A/B testing. From time to time we use cookies to test ('A/B tests') new features and make subtle changes to the way that the site is delivered. When we are still testing new features, these cookies may be used to ensure that you receive a consistent experience whilst on the site whilst ensuring we understand which optimisations our users appreciate the most.
      • User Experience & Analytics. We use behavioural analytics services (such as Contentsquare and UXtweak) to better understand our users’ needs and optimise our platform layout. These cookies securely record how visitors navigate, scroll and interact with our website to pinpoint usability issues.
      • Performance Analytics. We use website analytics to help us understand how you use the site and ways that we can improve your experience. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the website and the pages that you visit so we can continue to produce engaging content.
      • E-commerce & Conversion Analytics. Third-party analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) are used to track and measure the usage of this site so that we can continue to produce engaging content. These cookies may track things such as how long you spend on the site or pages you visit, which helps us to understand how we can improve the site for you.
      • As we sell products, it is important for us to understand statistics about how many of the visitors to our site actually make a purchase and, as such, this is the kind of data that these cookies will track. This is important to you as it means that we can accurately make business predictions that allow us to monitor our advertising and product costs to ensure the best possible price.

      Marketing cookies

Marketing cookies are used to track visitors across websites. The intention is to display ads that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and thereby more valuable for publishers and third-party advertisers. These cookies are used to match content and advertisements to your surfing behaviour. This data is stored in a database in a personalised way. We use these cookies, for example, to improve the design of our website, improve the user experience and for remarketing. We place marketing cookies only if you have given your consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time via our cookie banner. These cookies may involve third-party advertising partners; the specific partners and the cookies they set are listed in the cookie list.

      Can I disable cookies?

The main way to manage non-essential cookies is through our cookie banner, where you can accept, refuse or withdraw your consent at any time. In addition, you can prevent or delete cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser. Please visit your browser's help page for information on how to do this:

      • Chrome
      • Internet Explorer
      • Edge
      • Safari
      • Firefox
      • Opera

Please be aware that refusing or disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality and features of the site. The choice is entirely yours: you are free to accept or refuse non-essential cookies, and refusing them is just as easy as accepting them.

      More information

We hope that this page gives you a better understanding of what cookies are and how MR MARVIS uses them. However, if you are still looking for more information then please contact us via [email protected].

The controller responsible for the use of cookies on our websites is MR MARVIS Netherlands B.V., Huddestraat 3, 1018 HB Amsterdam, registered with the Trade Register of the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 85265799.
