Be Marvellous, B Corp
We're proud to announce that MR MARVIS got recertified as a B Corp under the new and more ambitious standards as one of the first fashion companies in the Benelux!
As a B Corp, we’re part of a global community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental responsibility, accountability and transparency. B Corp is a company-level certification with a holistic approach that evaluates all aspects of the business. Companies with a B Corp certification are committed to balancing profit with purpose for people and the planet. The goal? Ensuring accountability to all stakeholders - not just shareholders. Our journey so far
MR MARVIS first became a certified B Corp back in 2023, with a score of 101.7. Ever since, we have used the B Corp framework to guide and strengthen our sustainability efforts. Under the old standards (V1), companies had to complete the B Impact Assessment and undergo a verification process, reaching a minimum score of 80 points across five impact areas (Environment, Governance, Customers, Community and Workers) to achieve certification. The new B Corp standards: raising the bar
In April 2025, the rules of the game changed: B Corp introduced its new and more ambitious standards (V2). This is seen as the biggest evolution in the standards since the beginning of B Corp, and the standards are more stringent than ever. Here's what's new:
- No more ‘cherry-picking’: with the previous points-based system, companies could score high in some areas while underperforming in others. Now, companies must meet baseline requirements across all impact areas instead.
- Broader reach: the new framework requires businesses to take meaningful action across seven impact topics instead of five, adding, for instance, dedicated requirements on Human Rights.
- The certification is not a static trophy: over the years, you should also improve. That is why companies, after meeting all foundational and impact requirements at the time of certification (year 0), must demonstrate progress after three years, and then once more after five.
- Independent eyes for absolute objectivity: B Lab, the organisation behind the B Corp movement, no longer carries out the verification of the assessment internally. Instead, what companies submit is now assessed by independent third-party verification bodies.
How we made it happen
Meeting the new requirements in a short timeframe required a lot of hard work and collaboration across teams. Here’s a quick look at some of the major milestones that earned us our new certification:- We developed a Climate Action Plan, which has been published in our latest Action Report.
- We carried out in-depth Human Rights & Environmental Impact Assessments across our supply chain to identify and manage risks in where and how our garments are made.
- We implemented a grievance and whistleblowing mechanism for our partners, suppliers, and team, which is publicly accessible through our website.
- We co-chaired and actively participated in the B Corp Sustainable Fashion Circle, a collective of like-minded apparel brands sharing knowledge to push the fashion industry forward.
- We set up a system to keep track of our waste, water and energy consumption.
- We developed a Human Rights Policy, which we publicly published in our Action Report.
What’s next?
This recertification is a proud moment for us, confirming that MR MARVIS is moving in the right direction. But the work doesn't stop here.
Our next audit is set for 2029, and we’re already diving into the next level of requirements to make sure we keep improving.
We welcome you to join us on this journey and follow our progress. If you have any ideas, questions, or feedback, please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected]. We're always open to learning about new ways to improve.
Read moreA soft landing with The Sporty Zip Sweater
One day you will get out of your house and will be stunned, not by beauty or riches, but by an autumn whirlwind that wraps around your neck as a cold scarf. But we would not be MR MARVIS if we didn’t have the perfect solution for you: The Sporty Zip Sweater – the soft landing into the colder seasons.
One constant in autumn is the weather’s inconsistency. One day you’re sunbathing in the last powerful sun rays of the year; the next day you’re digging up every piece of rain clothing that you hid at the back of your wardrobe. Luckily, The Sporty Zip Sweater is versatile enough to handle autumn’s volatility thanks to its half-zip neckline. Too warm? Easy: zip down, collar down. Windy? Easy: zip up, collar up.
The outside of The Sporty Zip Sweater hides one important thing: the inside. Because the fabric is fleece-backed, functionality enters the realm of comfort. Soft to the touch and insulating when needed.
It should not be a surprise that we think this will be your new and versatile autumn/winter essential. So, to only launch it in one colour would be a serious pity. That’s why we will release this sweater in five classic MR MARVIS colours: deep black Blackjacks, red Chillies, dark blue Cosmics, grey Oysters and deep green Snookers.
