A step forward in responsibility
We’re proud to share that we officially received our Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certification on October 2, strengthening our commitment to doing things responsibly. This marks a new milestone in our sustainability strategy, with plans already underway to align our production with the latest environmental and social standards. Being recognised by GOTS means we can guarantee full accountability, from fibre to finished garment, and proudly share our sustainability efforts with our customers. Because doing good looks good on you – and never goes out of style.
Raising the bar
GOTS is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. It ensures fabrics are made with certified organic fibres, while also adhering to strict environmental and social standards throughout the entire production process. To carry the GOTS label, a product must contain at least 70% organic fibres and be produced under fair and safe working conditions, following strict chemical guidelines.
Two-thirds of the MR MARVIS collection currently includes a high percentage of organic cotton. More than 20% of our styles will be labeled as GOTS this year.
This includes both newer releases such as The Midweight Tee and trusted favourites like The Classic Chinos. The goal: full GOTS certification across all organic cotton styles in the next two years.
As you might already know, we are the largest Dutch clothing brand with a B Corp Certification – a title we intend to uphold with our 2026 recertification. Obtaining the GOTS certification is an additional step – not a requirement for B Corps – highlighting how we continue to go above and beyond, making conscious choices that benefit both people and the planet. We will be audited annually, along with our suppliers, by independent third-party organisations to ensure compliance with the strict GOTS standards.
What to look out for
Every MR MARVIS garment made according to GOTS standards will have a corresponding label. Because MR MARVIS collections combine new releases with never-out-of-stock favourites, some existing pieces were made before we received our GOTS certification.
This means the GOTS label will be introduced gradually, with the logo appearing only on new production runs. But rest assured: whether your item carries the GOTS label or not, the quality, comfort, and craftsmanship you expect from MR MARVIS remain exactly the same.

This style blends the warm and tailored character of flannel with cargo cues, inspired by the elevated, off-duty look of the local ski and mountaineering community.
The Flannels Alpinist are made of 97% organic cotton and 3% elastane. The cargo pockets feature a decorative pleat and a pocket flap stitched on both sides. The brushed cotton flannel fabric is the same quality as the one we use for The Flannels.
